Whew...

So up untill last night, Mr. Fix-It and I didn't have NYE plans. Then, about 10:00, he gets up with some old friends and decides WE are hosting a NYE party. Mr. Fix-It is in Augusta working all day. Guess who has braved Walmart, cleaned his apt and came up with food ideas and cooked all day...that's right, moi. Hopefully I won't be too exhausted and fall asleep before my midnight kiss. I've got a cold and I've been knocked out by 10 for the last three nights.

Happy New Year y'all! Hope you have a safe and fun night with the ones you love!

Almost forgot

The Pink Chick is hosting a giveaway in honor of her 100th post! She is super fun and ridiculously cute and if you haven't visited her blog already you need too! Check her out! She's giving away this...

The fallout

Happy Monday ladies! Hope you recovered nicely from the holidays. I spent all day today trying to organize my vanity, which had become a mess and organizing my storage closet. I live in a teeny tiny apartment and only have one teeny tiny closet for storage. It definately keeps my packrat tendencies at bay. However, I couldn't resist the %50 off deals on christmas decor everywhere, so I had to find room for stuff.

Santa was VERY good to me this year. Here are a few of my fave goodies...

From Mr. Fix-It
My new Ariat boots

I watched him wrap the coat and boots because I picked them out. When I grabbed the bag that the boots were in it was waaay too light. I asked where my boots were and he told me to open the box...I was being hardheaded and just wanted my new boots :) When I opened the box I found this...

He also got me a lovely long white peacoat but the picture didn't turn out so great.

From the parentals I got

I've been wanting an onyx ring for awhile now...and this Emily Ray set matches EVERYTHING! I had been secretly pricing a new tv but was very suprised when I opened it!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you have a wonderful holiday filled with love and blessings!

8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14"Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Tis' better to give...

Today I've decided to share some of the gifts I'm buying for loved ones this year.

For Mr. Fix-It
He's moving to Baltimore intwo weeks for work...don't want him getting lost or worse...forgetting the way back home to me!

Mr. Fix-It is a project engineer for a construction firm...he'll need these to stay warm and dry working outside.

Mr. Fix-It's Alma Mater

For my parents

These chairs in black. Ours got ruined by a storm a few years ago and never got replaced. You can't have a proper southern porch without rockers!
These are going to Mr. Fix-It's mom and my grandma respectively. My grandma and her boyfriend have started going on cruises with their sunday school class...gotta have her traveling in style!

Mr. Fix-It got his dad a pistol for Christmas and his mother is insisting that he have a safe for when there are grandchildren (putting the cart before the horse, eh?)

Long time no see

Wow...it's been a while since I posted! Things have been so busy since Thanksgiving and getting ready for finals that I feel like I haven't had a spare minute. I spent the holidays back home with the fam. I love getting to see my cousins! We are all so close in age and played together all the time when we were younger. They are the sisters I never had!

Friday night Mr. Fix-It and I braved the cold, wet night to watch the Grayson-Lowndes playoff game. Mr. Fix-It played for Grayson and got to relive the glory days a bit.Grayson won 17-7...and did I mention Lowndes was the #3 team in the COUNTRY? Yeah, it was a big deal. At the end of the game the Lowndes players tried to start a brawl...check it out.

Saturday Mr. Fit-It and I went to the GA-Tech game. It was soooo cold!Thank goodness our seats were underneath the underhang...we stayed dry. Mr. Fix-It is a tech fan so I knew this would be my one chance to get him into Sanford Stadium. Thankfully, he was kind and didn't give me too much of a hard time about Tech breaking our winning streak. What am I thinking loving a boy who hates UGA? I also got to see two of my very best friends from college, Josh and Charlie. I miss those boys.

No denying it

There is no more denying it...I'm fat.

It's true.

NONE of my pants fit...NONE. I've been doing the diet thing for like a week now and had planned to run with it but it's been so damn cold that I have wussed out.

I see all you lovely ladies in blog land and I know you're lookin smokin'. Granted, lots of you run around after kids all day...I'm not quite ready for that level of exercise!

Got any tips? Good lowfat recipes? How do you supress cravings for bad foods? Any exercises you love?

I'm always looking for an excuse to shop but I love my clothes and I want to fit into them again! HELP!

Gunpowder & Lead

Had a great weekend with Mr. Fix-It. Saturday we spent some quality time together at the firing lane. (I'd like to note that I was NOT prepared to go shooting and was the only person there in heels)Mr. Fix-It has a new .38 revolver that he wanted to try out. Unfortunately, he didn't get to try it much as I fell in love with it the first shot I fired. It just fits my hand. His .45 is just too bulky for me to get a good grip on.

That night we went to the wedding of an old college friend. The wedding was looooong and it took the bride and groom an hour to get to the reception site...which meant an hour with no food...which meant i was starving...which meant I left the reception before she even got there and we went and ate elsewhere. If you're ever in Madison, GA...I reccomend The Chop House. Ben and Trisha came with us. Mr. Fix-It had only met them in passing and I was wondering how things would go but he was really excited and wants to go out with them again. Since all our friends are so spread out, we don't get to do fun things other people much...We're both excited about dating other couples :)

We have made the wedding circuit over the past few monthes and we're both excited to be going to the last one for a while next weekend. If one good thing has come from it, I feel like wedding planning will be a breeze now because I have definite ideas of what I do and don't want now thanks to all my "research" this summer.

Friday Flashback

Ahhh...college, the early years. This was sophomore year, which was probably the best year of college. All my friends had transferred to UGA and no one had graduated yet. All these girls were my Sigma Alpha sisters. Sigma Alpha is a professional agricultural sorority. I was never big into the sisterhood thing but it did help me keep in touch with lots of high school friends from across the state in FFA and 4-H. The 3 girls to my right are "the girls". We all met through FFA in high school and clicked when we came to college. All of us ended up being ag teachers so now even though we're spread throughout the state we still get to see each other at least once a month, even if it is at work.

Check out the hair! (or maybe dont!) I made a horrible mistake of having short hair for a while...not a good idea...this was the awkward growing out stage...ick!

I'm also a fan of the 2 girls faces on the right...they are obviously disgusted...i guess the dawgs weren't playing so great at the time.

Find x...here it is!

Has anyone else ever felt like this? I'm currently taking a Calculus class that is kicking my tail! I hate numbers...unless they are telling me that a fabulous pair of shoes are on sale or that I have a surplus in the bank account...I KNOW without a doubt I'll never use it...and I get frustrated so easily with it. I have a test on Friday so if you could send some positive vibes my way that would be grand!

Speaking of frustrated...I'm getting that way with the long distance thing with Mr. Fix-IT (the boyfriend). With him working in the AUG right now our only way to stay connected is our daily chats but neither of us have anything interesting to say. I write papers all day and he plays in the dirt. Every day's covo is the same:

How was your day?
Fine, how was yours?
It was good. Insert dull ( occassionally interesting tidbit here) Did you do anything exciting?
Not particularly....ad naseum

We miss each other and talking at least makes me feel connected but I've never been the type to sit and listen to someone breathe or just go about their daily routine. Not cool.

For now, its time to go crunch more (imaginary) numbers.

My Blogging Debut

I broke down and did it.

After swearing that I was far too busy for a blogging and justifying with the question of "who-would-ever-want-to-hear-about-the-monotony-of-my-life...I broke down and created a blog. I've never been much of the keep a journal, tell your feelings crap but I like the idea of sharing my life and finding out about others. So, feel free to check in on my daily adventures!

Tomorrow begins the first day of a new exercise routine I'm trying...stay tuned for what are sure to be some interesting posts.
